About Kerschbaumer

Owned and operated by Mark Kerschbaumer since 2000, Kerschbaumer Design works on a wide range of new construction, renovation, and professional contract projects relating to residential design and building. Mark began working hands on in the building industry, then attended and graduated with a Diploma in Building Technology - Architectural Option, from the British Columbia Institute of Technology in 1997. Upon graduation, Mark worked with Kallweit Graham Architecture (KGA) till late 1999 at which time he accepted the opportunity to travel to Guatemala and supervise the reconstruction of a hurricane devastated orphanage on the Rio Dulce. Mark started Kerschbaumer Design upon his return to Canada in mid 2000 and has worked on a variety or projects for both Kerschbaumer Design and KGA. Mark has also personally designed and built two projects to date. Estuary Studios, in 2003-04 is a 4500sf mixed use live/work building located near the waterfront in downtown Squamish, and most recently completed a custom home for his family in Hospital Hill.

Additional areas of professional interest include a deeply founded belief in green design/building and community development. Mark was a volunteer and member of the Board of Directors with EcoDesign Resource Society in Vancouver from 1998-2002 where his role involved conducting green building research, resource centre management and production of green building events and tours. Mark is also a founding and current member of the Squamish Advisory Design Panel since 2004.
