A substantial renovation/addition to an aged post war bungalow in East Vancouver for young growing family. The design solution balances their desire for a modern aesthetic with the City’s design guidelines in this historic neighbourhood. The homes existing footprint was maintained and a second storey added, including 2 shafts built into the second floor plan to flood the main floor with natural daylight. Built by Marken Projects and Naikoon Contracting, the project featured many green building elements and won 2013 Georgie Award for best renovation $300-$500k. Interior design by DS8/Tina Hubert Architects.
